The Importance of Communication

As a technologically limited and observationally driven field, space science requires ever more sensitive hardware for advancement. To provide this motive force, instruments and missions must be conceived, designed, implemented and operated.  This talk will discuss the development paradigm for new science missions. We will focus on the critical nature of communication to the efficient and effective development of these systems.  The challenge of communication across disciplines will be examined and discussed. Using examples from the speaker’s personal experience some basic techniques to increase the probability of effective communication will be introduced.
